AION Auto UK marks start of sales with grand HQ celebration

• Celebration event welcomed senior representatives from GAC International and Jameel Motors, AION Auto UK’s joint venture partners
• Retail partners to open 1 June, with AION V available immediately
• AION V is an all-electric family SUV spearheading the AION brand’s entry to the UK

London, 29 May 2026 – AION Auto UK’s Managing Director, Jon Wakefield, welcomed senior representatives from its joint venture partners - GAC International and Jameel Motors - to an exclusive event at its new flagship headquarters on the outskirts of London to formally celebrate the start of sales for the newcomer brand. They were also joined by retailer and strategic partners.

AION is the electrified brand within the GAC Group. It was established in 2017 and last year sold over 300,000 cars in China, making it one of the best-selling new energy vehicle brands in the world’s largest EV market. Success in the UK is key for GAC’s internationalisation strategy, which targets one million overseas sales by 2030.

AION Auto UK has been formed as a joint venture between GAC International and Jameel Motors, a leading provider of mobility solutions and partner of choice to top automotive brands. The celebration, hosted at the new AION flagship dealership in Slough, welcomed several esteemed guests from the partners, including Jack Chen, Vice President of GAC Group and Chairman of GAC International, and Jasmmine Wong, CEO of Jameel Motors.

First product: AION V
AION aims to introduce a line-up of eight electrified vehicles by 2030, spearheaded by the AION V all-electric family SUV, which is now on sale in the UK.

The AION V boasts a distinctive exterior, a spacious and luxurious interior fully loaded with comfort and convenience features, and class-leading range and charging speed. Every AION V will include the ‘AION Great 8’ effortless ownership proposition, which provides eight years of confidence-inspiring support across the vehicle’s warranty, servicing, roadside assistance and MOT. 

Prices start from £36,450 OTR, with flexible PCP offers over 18 - 48 months starting from £379 per month (2.9 percent APR Representative*) through AION Financial Services.

The first retailers will open their doors to customers on 1 June. While the brand’s network continues to grow over the coming months and years, customers will be supported wherever they are in the UK through a partnership with the AA. This will give customers access to the AA’s nationwide network of accredited workshops and over 100 mobile service technicians for servicing, maintenance and repair. A collaboration with DHL gives the assurance of nationwide next-day delivery from AION’s Bury St Edmunds parts hub.
